  This delightful stone cottage dates from the 16th century and is a firm favourite with many repeat visitors. It has been restored and attractively furnished by the charming owners who live in the adjoining 'manoir'. Le Vieux Logis also adjoins a 'parc' comprising 22 hectares of poplar and other varieties of trees, through which guests are free to wander. The living room is large with exposed timbers and stone walls; a low wall separates it from the well equipped kitchen/dining room. A winding wooden staircase leads from the living room to a gallery bedroom, through which you enter the main bedroom which is beautifully furnished with 2 large antique single beds. The spacious shower room is also upstairs. Outside is a secluded, walled terrace for eating out and a very attractive, part shaded garden. Bikes are available for hire. The nearest shops are at Brain-sur-Allonnes which also has a swimming pool, tennis courts and a horse-riding centre. Saumur has a wider choice of shops, services and restaurants.

  T4923   Located in a small hamlet, famous for its ancient Troglodyte houses (cave dwellings), Les Ifs is approached via a courtyard (shared with owners) planted with mature trees and bushes. The downstairs accommodation is very large and spacious and features exposed stone walls and beamed ceilings. In typical french style, the large sitting/dining/kitchen area is all open plan with a long dining table, a settee, 2 comfortable chairs and a small television. Adjacent to the kitchen is a large shower room with a separate wc and a washing machine. A wooden stairway leads to a double bedroom, a twin room and another double bedroom (cot) facing onto the garden. There is also a wc with wash basin at this level. The lawned garden with a barbecue is located at the rear and is solely for use of this property. This is a quiet yet convenient location being within a short walk of Louresse Rocheminier which has a restaurant and a bakery and the town of Doué la Fontaine with its selection of shops and a well renowned zoo is a few minutes drive away. The beautiful town of Saumur on the Loire is also within a short drive.

T3616 T3616 - LE MESNIL - Loire - France sleeps 2/4 Situated in the Indre region of France and surrounded by châteaux, this 200 year old stone cottage has been tastefully restored maintaining many of the original character features including an old bread oven and a stone fireplace. One half of the cottage is retained for the owner's personal use, usually outside of rental periods therefore affording clients maximum privacy. The accommodation is all on one level and comprises a well equipped kitchen, a spacious living/dining room which is comfortably furnished, a shower room and a bedroom. Outside, there is a terrace for dining and a large enclosed meadow forms the garden. A barbecue and garden furniture are available. Beyond the garden, there is an overgrown wood left undisturbed to attract wildlife. The village of Veuil has several restaurants whilst every day shops can be found in Vicq-sur-Nahon and Valencay is best for major shopping expeditions.

However, it benefits from its own garden ensuring complete privacy for individual groups. This charming property used to be a 17th century farmhouse and has recently been renovated "dans la tradition", using local materials. It has been attractively decorated, retaining many original features including exposed beams, stone walls, tiled floors and a large open fire place. Tastefully furnished including some antique furniture, the spacious living/dining room leads into the downstairs double bedroom with en-suite bathroom and to the rear of the property can be found a small kitchen (washing machine). An open wooden staircase takes you to a large attic room providing an extra sitting area where an additional bed can be provided, before leading through to the twin bedroom and a private shower room. t4911 Standing in peaceful countryside near the village of Jarzé, 22kms north of the Loire, this attractive property typifies life in rural France. Spacious and well equipped, La Girardière would be well suited to two families sharing. On the ground floor is a large, comfortably furnished sitting room (TV) and a separate dining room with a table for 10 people and a well equipped kitchen (dishwasher) adjacent. There is a shower room where a washing machine is housed and a separate wc and utility area. One bedroom is downstairs and upstairs are the bathroom, 2nd wc and 4 further bedrooms. There is an attractive terrace for eating out and a large garden with views across undulating fields and woodlands. Locally, there are plenty of walks in unspoilt countryside and a lake 6kms away at Fontaine Guerin where you can swim.

t4920 This most attractive and spacious stone house dates back to 1655 and was carefully renovated to a good standard in 1998. It enjoys a quiet location not far from the small hamlet of Noëllet which has a bakery and general store. A landscaped courtyard lies to the front of the property where there is also plenty of space for parking. A two storey building, the entrance opens onto the large living/dining room with an open fireplace, television, exposed stone walls and a beamed ceiling. Adjacent, through a beamed opening, is the well equipped kitchen (microwave and dishwasher). Also on the ground floor is a shower room, separate WC and a games room with table football, table tennis, boules and a sandpit. A wooden staircase leads to 2 double bedrooms (1 with cot) and the twin room each with beamed ceiling. There is another shower room and separate WC on this level. A wider range of shops can be found at Combée whilst there is a lake within a short walk of the property.

It is situated just a short drive from the attractive small town of Baugé with its choice of local shops and facilities.
