This delightful stone cottage dates from the 16th century and is a
firm favourite with many repeat visitors. It has been restored and attractively
furnished by the charming owners who live in the adjoining 'manoir'. Le Vieux
Logis also adjoins a 'parc' comprising 22 hectares of poplar and other
varieties of trees, through which guests are free to wander. The living room is
large with exposed timbers and stone walls; a low wall separates it from the
well equipped kitchen/dining room. A winding wooden staircase leads from the
living room to a gallery bedroom, through which you enter the main bedroom
which is beautifully furnished with 2 large antique single beds. The spacious
shower room is also upstairs. Outside is a secluded, walled terrace for eating
out and a very attractive, part shaded garden. Bikes are available for hire.
The nearest shops are at Brain-sur-Allonnes which also has a swimming pool,
tennis courts and a horse-riding centre. Saumur has a wider choice of shops,
services and restaurants.
