  Set in the attractive and unspoilt Normandy 'Bocage' country, this elegant stone house has been divided into two gites (see N5012 Tilleuls), each with an independent entrance. Standing in a courtyard with farm buildings to the left and an enclosed garden in front, the house is comfortably furnished. The rooms have high ceilings in keeping with the style of the period, with an open fireplace in the living room. There are bikes available for use and in the garden there are swings, football goals, table tennis, and volleyball. St Jean de Savigny (200m) has a bistro restaurant and the nearest shops are at St Clair sur Elle (3 kms). St Lo is a good shopping centre with a wide range of activities, including a waterpark and equestrian centre. The best local beach is at Vierville (22 kms), which is part of the famous Omaha beach.

  N5002   Situated just a short distance from the bay of Mont Saint Michel, this attractive property is ideally placed for exploring both Normandy and Brittany. La Mottaiserie enjoys a peaceful location just outside the village of Ceaux and stands in a secluded garden which is well screened by a mature hedge. The accommodation is on two floors; downstairs are the well equipped kitchen, utility room, wc and a comfortable, well furnished living room including antiques. Upstairs are the bathroom and three bedrooms which are also decorated to a high standard. Double french doors open onto a sun terrace equipped with garden furniture and barbecue, beyond which lies the well maintained lawned gardens. Courtils has a Boulangerie and a small Epicerie whilst Avranches offers a good selection of restaurants and services including several hypermarkets. Le Mont Saint Michel has an interesting historic centre and the nicest local beaches can be found at Carolles (20 kms) and 'La Guimorais' (28 kms.)

N1415 Clecy, a picturesque village in the heart of the 'Suisse Normande', is the location of this immaculate stone cottage, which was converted from stables in 1990. In keeping with french tradition, the heart of this cottage is its comfortably furnished living/dining area with exposed stone walls, beamed ceilings and an open fireplace. The fitted kitchen is in one corner. A wooden staircase leads to the mezzanine area, from which the other 2 bedrooms are accessed. In excellent decorative order, this cottage has modern facilities yet maintains its character and charm. Outside, the terrace, complete with garden furniture, enjoys views down the valley towards the village. A large shared garden is equipped with swings and a childrens' sandpit. The surrounding area is one of contrasts, undulating hills and beautiful valleys with the river Orne meandering its way through the valley floor. Clecy has a good selection of small shops and restaurants and there is boating, canoeing and pedaloes on the river nearby. This is an excellent area for walkers and fishing is close by.

N1416 This cottage is actually a converted barn, renovated in 1993 and is attached to property N1415. Comfortably furnished and full of charm, the living room has a beamed ceiling, tiled floor and an open stone fireplace. A well equipped kitchen (microwave but no oven) is in one corner. A wooden staircase leads up to the 2 bedrooms which have wooden ceilings and exposed beams. The cottage has been decorated to a high standard throughout. Outside the private terrace is equipped with table, chairs, parasol and sunloungers (2) and has wonderful views over the valley leading to the village. The large shared garden has swings and a sandpit. The surrounding area is one of contrasts, undulating hills and beautiful valleys with the river Orne meandering its way through the valley floor. Clecy is a very attractive village within a short walk of the cottage and has several small shops and restaurants with boating, canoeing and pedaloes on the river nearby. This is an excellent area for walkers and fishing is close by.This property together with N1415 could well suit two families travelling together but wanting some privacy.

N1417 This charming detached stone cottage is situated within the gounds of the owners property in a peaceful and rural location, but has a separate entrance and own private garden. The cottage has been extensively renovated yet still retains character with beamed ceilings in the living/dining room, exposed stone walls and a large fireplace. The well equipped kitchen is situated to one corner of the living room. Also downstairs is a shower room and separate wc. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, one double and one twin with views over the valley and a further bedroom with 2 bunk beds as well as a bathroom with wc. The large garden which can be accessed via french doors from both the dining room or the main entrance, enjoys beautiful views over the valley of Clécy and the surrounding countryside. This is an excellent area for walkers and fishing is close by.The pretty village of Clecy is just 2 kms away and provides a choice of small shops and restaurants with boating, canoeing and pedaloes on the river nearby.

N5004 Les Isles is a rural village house built from local granite located within a short drive of Mont St Michel. Spread over 3 floors, the house has been furnished in a homely, older style. The ground floor comprises a kitchen, downstairs cloakroom and a living/dining room which leads out onto a terrace for outside dining. All the bedrooms are on the first and second floors (stairs are quite steep) together with a modern bathroom and one further wc. There is an attractive sun terrace leading from the first floor which extends into the large garden (not enclosed), where there is a sandpit and a large grassed area for children to play. The charming owner lives and works on her nearby farm and is quite a character with a wealth of interesting local knowledge. Juillet (village - 3kms) has a grocer/café and a general store. Full services, shops and restaurants are at Avranches, with the nearest good beaches at Carolles (20kms).

N5010 Lilas is an old stone cottage that has been fully renovated and is situated in a quiet area on the outskirts of St Jean de Savigny, a small, unspoilt village just 20kms from the coast. This cottage is attractively furnished and has a well equipped kitchen. Divided over 2 floors, the ground floor accommodation comprises: shower room with washing machine, a small eat-in kitchen and a comfortable sitting/dining room with an open fireplace, beamed ceiling, television and stereo system. A wooden stairway leads from the sitting room to the 2 spacious bedrooms. Outside there is an enclosed garden with areas of lawn and flowering plants plus a built in barbecue, a dining table and chairs for outside dining and a carport. In the same location as N5011, there is fishing close by and small shops are available at St Clair sur Elle (3kms) with a wider choice available plus a market at Saint Lo. St Lo is a good shopping centre with a wide range of activities, including a waterpark and equestrian centre. The best local beach is at Vierville (22 kms), which is part of the famous Omaha beach.

N5031 This property enjoys a peaceful and rural position on the outskirts of the small village of La Barre de Semilly. An ideal location for walkers and cyclists with a cycle route passing outside the house. Horseriding and fishing are found close by. The accommodation is divided over two floors; on the ground floor the comfortable sitting/dining room with beamed ceiling has a television and there is a separate, well equipped kitchen with dishwasher. Also on this level is a shower room, separate wc and washing machine. The three bedrooms are upstairs together with an additional wc with washbasin and bidet. To the rear of the house you will find an enclosed garden with a small lawn with table and chairs plus there is a large garden shared with the adjacent gite which has swings and a barbecue. The adjacent apple orchard is home to several donkeys which are always a favourite with children. N5034 Situated in a small village, this house enjoys a peaceful rural location whilst still being within easy cycling distance (or a short drive) of the lovely Portbail beaches which stretch along the coast for a further 2.5kms. Originally constructed in 1767, this property was formely part shop and part bar. It has now been tastefully renovated and comprises a ground floor with a well equipped kitchen/dining room, a comfortable living room and a separate wc and bathroom (bath with shower attachment). All the bedrooms are on the first floor. To the rear of the house is a large, fully enclosed garden with a built in barbecue, garden furniture and plenty of space for children to run around. Portbail on the coast is a small town with a good selection of restaurants, shops and services. Cherbourg ferry port is within an hours drive.
